 Message-From-the-Headteacher

On behalf of all the children, staff and governors at Redhill Primary School, I would like to welcome you to our school.

Redhill Primary is a successful, happy place where children achieve exceptionally high educational standards. Over the years our original building has undergone extensive refurbishment and modernisation, we have up to date technology and attractive facilities in all areas.

Children in the Reception Class follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. Here we provide a stimulating, secure and creative environment where each child's needs and abilities are recognised and developed. A great deal of learning takes place through carefully structured and focussed play activities where children learn through working alongside highly qualified and experienced staff. We invest in a high proportion of adult support in order to maximise children's learning opportunities. Children in Key Stage 1 & 2 follow a rich and varied curriculum with a strong emphasis on basic skills. We place great emphasis on developing within every child a lively, enquiring mind, the ability to question logically, to communicate and acquire a variety of skills. We also use our creative curriculum to actively promote British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, develop mutual respect and tolerance for those with different faiths and beliefs. In doing so, we aim for our children to become rounded and valued members of society who treat others with respect. All children take part in formal SATS assessments at the end of Year 2 and Year 6.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection in February 2009 judged the school to be outstanding. Our results, at the end of both Key Stage 1 & 2 are well above local and national averages. Whilst we want our children to achieve their best, we also endeavour to instil a love of learning in our pupils so that they are well prepared for the future at secondary school and beyond. We have a strong commitment to involving our pupils in the life of our school and have an active School Parliament, with pupil representatives from each year group who help to raise funds, liaise with the local community and help us to listen to our pupils.

Redhill Primary has exceptionally talented and hardworking staff who work very closely with parents to ensure that together, we are educating our children with the skills they need to live fulfilling lives. I am very proud to be Headteacher of the school. I can assure you that my team and I will be working tirelessly to ensure that your child receives the best education possible and reaches their full potential.
